First, during our student meetings we emphasized the importance of committing to "The New Prague Way." We will always strive to Do What's Right, Commit to Excellence and Show People You Care in all areas of our school, including our fan sections. With these concepts in mind, please know that we expect you to engage in appropriate behavior at all NPHS events. Please remember:
-
Be respectful to our opponents.
-
Students are encouraged to stand up and cheer loudly at events. However, students are not allowed to stand on top of benches or seating areas.
-
Any signs must be pre-approved by a member of the administrative team (Mr. Skogerboe, Mr. Wetschka, Mr. Thorstad, or Ms. Meier) 24 hours before the game. Any signs that are not pre-approved will not be admitted into the stadium.
-
Flags or banners are not permitted.
-
We expect students to refrain from unsafe behaviors such as crowd surfing while attending NPHS events.
-
Please do not bring balloons, anything that can substitute for a balloon, beach balls, air horns, silly string, powder, or anything else that can cause a penalty for our team or additional clean up from our custodial team. Bringing these items may result in removal from the game.
-
Your enthusiasm and pride shows support to our athletes and artists that have worked so hard. It is important to keep our focus on being positive. This means we cannot engage in:
-
Personal attacks or signs of disrespect. Booing at any point, or turning your backs on our opponents during introductions, is unacceptable.
-
Vulgar or hateful language
-
Obscene or rude gestures
-
Threats against opponents or officials
-
Taunting opponents or officials
-
Reciprocation if opponents, or fans, engage in inappropriate behavior against us. We are better than that!
-
We expect everyone to show that we have the best student-athletes, and fans, because we are loud, and proud, and our emphasis is on raising our team up rather than bringing our opponents down. We hope to see large fan sections at all of our home and away events this year. Keep up the great work we have seen during our first weeks of school!
