As we prepare to kick off another successful school year, New Prague Area Schools is thrilled to announce several key administrative leadership updates across our district. Please join us in welcoming our new leaders and celebrating the continued growth of our educational community!
Jeremy Engebretson – Director of Academic Services: Following seven successful years as Principal at Raven Stream Elementary, Mr. Jeremy Engebretson is stepping into the role of Director of Academic Services. In this role, he will serve as the chief academic officer for the District providing leadership, coordination and facilitation in the development and implementation of K-12 curriculum, standards and instructional programs. Prior to his leadership at Raven Stream, Mr. Engebretson served in various leadership roles and was a classroom teacher for 16 years. His broad expertise in teaching, learning, and curriculum strategy will ensure Academic Services continues to thrive.
Elizabeth Johnson – Principal, Raven Stream Elementary School: Taking the helm at Raven Stream Elementary is Ms. Elizabeth Johnson, who joins us from Minnetonka Public Schools, where she served as Assistant Principal. Ms. Johnson brings over two decades of educational experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, district lead coach, and administrative dean in Eastern Carver County Schools. She holds an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University, Mankato, as well as a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. Her proven track record of building trust, fostering belonging, and empowering educators will guide Raven Stream into its next exciting chapter.
Mike Schmidt – Activities Director: Mr. Mike Schmidt joins NPAS as our new Activities Director, succeeding Brad Skogerboe following his 18 years of dedicated service. Mr. Schmidt brings a wealth of experience as a teacher, coach, and educational leader, having previously served as Principal and Activities Director at Randolph High School. He holds an Education Specialist degree and Master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, along with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville. His deep-rooted background in leadership, coaching, and student-centered growth makes him an outstanding fit for our activities programs.
As we welcome these leaders, we also express our sincere gratitude to Brad Skogerboe (Activities Director) and Maren Bahler (Director of Academic Services) for their distinguished service and wish them the very best in their future endeavors.
