PSAT/NMSQT
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is taken by self-selected 11th-grade students (10th-grade students may take if they desire). The PSAT is given on a designated national test date in October. [Wednesday, October 14, 2020]
There is a fee for this exam. It is a preparation test for the SAT and includes tests in verbal skills, math, and writing.
Scores for 11th-grade students are used to determine the National Merit Scholarship winners across the nation (< 1% of students tested nationally qualify for the competition).
In general, students in the top 15% of the junior class should consider taking the PSAT.
